The Dyckman Street Photo Documentary by Jameel Morrison and Claudio E. Cabrera.

April 19th, 2009 · No Comments · My Hood

So two weeks ago, me and your favorite photographer, Jameel Morrison hit the streets and took over 80 flicks from his camera at different locations in “my hood,” also known as Dyckman.

I was a little late to the shoot because I was at “Los Muchachos” barbershop on Nagle and Sickles. Shouts to Rambo and my barber Jimmy for hooking it up. Dominican barbers folks…Dominican barbers (best in the biz).

We went to shoot near Dyckman Field in the center of the street. Then we hit the A train stop on Broadway and Dyckman both outside and inside. Then, we took it to the 1 train right in the middle of Nagle with a bunch of people stopping to wonder who the hell I was. After that, we went up Hillside where I lay my head for a few flicks. It was funny to see neighbors ask me after-wards if I do movies or model. I was like no, no, no silly. It was just a photo shoot. I seen a few familiar faces from my past. It was kind of embarassing, but I loosened up after a while as you can see in my “faboo” photos

I’m actually thinking of pitching the idea of a “Dyckman Photo Documentary” to Jameel which we can hold at a gallery in the neighborhood in the future where he would come to Dyckman to take pics of different people and locations. I think it would be a great idea. What do you guys think?

Jameel allows you to take a bunch of photos for 44.00 and you get to pick 4 shots. Any additional picks can be purchased at low cost. Contact him through his website for more information. Click on the link on his name above for more information.
