the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Yes, we produced Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar. One of the greatest basketball players of all-time and one of the top 5 centers in league history.

He went to school at Saint Jude (204th street) and lived in the famed, Dyckman Projects (two blocks away from me), in Building 7 which is home to the Dyckman Basketball Courts which >>>>> Rucker.

A special shout to Kareem and good luck to him with the Lakers (can’t believe I just said good luck to the Lakers) in the rest of their playoff run.

your “facts” are wrong — Lou Alcindor (Kareem) lived in 195 Nagle Ave (i.e., Building 3) not building 7 as you state. I too lived in that building when Lou did; he on the fifth floor (5A)and we on the second (2C).

Gerard thanks for the comment. I actually read online that that’s where he lived. That’s where I got the info from. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the correction.

Didn’t see Jerry’s response. Was going to say the same thing. I grew up in 195…….10E. Lou, he’s still Lou to me, used to carry us up on his shoulders!! He came from great parents and an easier time.
