It was…

A year I started off unemployed after I got laid off from a company I loved working for.

A year where I was out of a job for five out of the first 12 months.

A year where a five year relationship ended abruptly.

A year where I still didn’t get a grip on certain vices.

A year where I still didn’t get myself started in a specific career.

A year where I said I would get back into writing, but never did.

But this past year was also…

A year where I saved more money than I ever have.

A year where I dedicated three months of my time coaching a HS basketball team and loved it.

A year where I witnessed history with the inauguration of a Black President.

A year where I had my best year as a ticket reseller.

A year where I learned more about the ticket business. I learned so much that if I really wanted to go into business for myself, I could.

A year where I sat court-side for the first time.

A year where I went to Las Vegas for a boxing fight and a stay at the Bellagio for free.

A year where I became closer to my family.

A year where I really found my way with this blog and am thankful for everyone who reads it.

A year where I learned that I don’t need a woman by my side to feel complete.

But most importantly, a year where I became more honest with myself.

You see, I don’t know what 2010 holds. Nobody does. But I can ‘honestly’ say that I’ve never been more optimistic for my/friend’s futures’ as I am now.

All the best in 2010…
