Welcome to San Antonio a consumate professional and class act who fits our personality and system. Ladies and Gentlemen, Antonio McDyess.

Now, the first thing I will say is please don’t get injured. Don’t even dare. You may not be the shot blocker I wanted or as coveted as Sheed, but you are a better rebounder and pick and roll defender than that technical foul machine. Plus, you won’t get us any technical fouls. We get enough from Coach Pop as it is.

Although you are injury prone and that worries me, we only signed you for two years so I’m fine with the risk.

Give me this type of production and my lips are sealed:

12 PPG, 7-8 RPB, 40 FG%. That’s all I need from you.

Onto the other aspects of this deal; what will our lineup look like?

C Duncan
PF McDyess
SF Jefferson
SG Mason
PG Manu

or

C Duncan
PF McDyess
SF Jefferson
SG Finley
PG Parker

or

Or will he come off the bench and Bonner still start? Its an interesting question and one that may seem foolish, but Popovich could pull something like that off to have a stronger second unit. But, you can probably expect Dyess to start.

Either of those lineups would be fine with me. Of course, I’d prefer 1 and 3, but wouldn’t really be shocked if Popovich goes with 2, just to give the impression that our bench is deep with Manu, Mason, Hill and Bonner.

But in the meantime, I must give RC and Pop a round of applause. I never expected you guys to spend so freely, and thought you would never change from your old, veterans model. Thank you for bringing a smile to all Spurs fans across the globe; and even if we don’t win this year, we know our window will stay open until TD rides off into the sunset in 2013.
