Join The Wash Heights/Inwood Brunch & Supper Club This Sunday At Garden Cafe… is a post from: Live Above Mediocrity

For all those who don’t know, I created a Wahi/Inwood Brunch & Supper Club in July of 2009 to bring the neighborhood residents together. We have many new residents who have yet to mingle with the old residents, and I thought this would be a great idea to bring everyone together.

We currently have 174 members on Facebook and average about 9-12 people for every brunch or dinner. If you’d like to join us, just type in Wahi/Inwood Brunch & Supper Club on Facebook. We should be easy to fine.

Anyways…

The selection for our next dinner has been made and it is next Friday October 8th at Bronx Alehouse on 238th between Broadway and Bailey. Yes, I know, this isn’t in the neighborhood – but it’s time to venture out a bit as we have done before.

You can take the 1 train directly there and we will meet in front of the restaurant.

Remember, the club policy is cash only. We will meet at 7:30 sharp at the location.

My Wahi/Inwood Brunch & Supper Club featured in local paper… is a post from: Live Above Mediocrity

If you didn’t already know, I recently launched a Wahi/Inwood Brunch & Supper Club which will meet once a month. It will bring together the young professionals of our area and help foster relationships between young/old and east/west of our neighborhoods.

The idea was inspired by Elaine Walker, who had similar success with a club out in Harlem. Kudos to her.

Yesterday, when I launched the club, we had 30 new members. We are hitting 40 as we speak and I expect it to continue growing. I think our community is in desperate need of something like this.

If you guys/girls want to travel the city and explore different restaurants, that’s great. If you want to keep it strictly to neighborhood spots, that’s fine too. We don’t have to limit ourselves to our neighborhood. The point of this is not only to meet new people, but to explore new places we haven’t been to before. But I will leave that up to you guys.

We expect to meet up once a month starting with either the 1st week of August Fri, Sat, Sun or 2nd week of August Fri, Sat, Sun.
