This short documentary focuses on Colorism. The topics include Wale’s video “Pretty Girls” which was criticized for it’s absence of women of color (dark-skin women), as well as Sammy Sosa’s skin lightening.

The featured speakers are myself, Webcaster Joy Daily, and NYU Professor Ed Guerrero.

The documentary was shot by Jennifer DePriest for a school project at the Columbia University Journalism School a few months ago.

I want to thank her for reading this blog and selecting me to speak about this topic. I really, really appreciate it and wish you continued success.

Very cool. The documentary looks like it would be interesting. What I think it much better that at least the outcry from the public…although mainly female..put enough pressure on Wale himself.
